The first surgery is complete. Wires implanted into his back at the site of his pain. The stimulator pack is taped onto his side and he has a little remote control to gage settings and strength of the pulse. Looks pretty narly and from what he tells me, wires in your back don't feel so good. But its only day 2 and the soreness from the procedure should wear off in a few days so he can better determine how it effects his daily pain. The next step takes place this coming monday the 30th, when they remove the wires and evaluate the stimulators effectiveness. Lord willing there will be a significant enough amount of pain relief that the date will then be set for the permanent stimulator to be place in his spinal column, wires and all. The only part left outside his body will be the remote.
